Launched by Akio Kawahito as an IG Live stream during lockdown, Strictly Soul built a strong online following, before launching as a live event in October 2020 as South Africa’s first dedicated R&B party.
In 2021, Strictly Soul expanded to Cape Town followed by Botswana and Durban in 2022. In 2023, we added Tanzania, Namibia, and Kenya to the map making the brand the biggest R&B event in Africa.
